Perdy Syers-Gibson - Viola

Perdy studied the viola at Trinity College of Music, London, from 2000-2005 where she gained a Bmus (Hons) and Postgraduate Diploma. She studied with Christopher Wellington and Richard Crabtree.
Since leaving Trinity, Perdy has been a freelance viola player, playing with various quartets, Brunelleschi and the Thames Quartets. She is also and extra for City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, and has also played with the Maltese Symphony Orchestra , The New London Sinfonia and London Concert Orchestra, and she played on the sound track to the Littlewoods advertisement. Perdy also teaches the Violin, and Viola in and around London.
Perdy plays a lot of Scottish Fiddle music and has competed all around Scotland winning various competitions and coming runner up in major championships. She made a CD "Fiddlin with a Piano" and has played in the Edinburgh Festival twice.
Symposia were delighted to welcome Perdy to join them in 2009 replacing Amy Greenhalgh when she moved to take a job in Santiago, Chile.
